33 Hot Rod 5.0 Coyote

Coyote powered 33 Hot Rod

Factory Five 1933 Hot Rod project.

This is a father/son project that Paul’s Automotive Engineering is helping with. Dan and Dan Rosenthal (long time friends and customers) decided to do a project car together and we decided that building it in a corner of our shop would be good for all.

They started with a Factory Five 33 Hot Rod kit, and they were going to run a 1996 Cobra 4v engine. As the project progressed, they kept looking at the Coyote that we were running in Brian’s car. Soon we realized that the 5.0 would bolt up to the engine mounts provided by Factory Five, and the decision was made to run the new engine.

Thanks to some of PAE’s contacts at Ford Racing, a new 5.0 showed up at the shop, and we actually had a 5.0 in a Factory Five chassis before they had one.

The install was straight foreward, and with stock headers, and a custom PAE tune the car made 414RWHP, which should be very exciting in a 2100# car.

The Rosenthals should have the car licensed and on the road this fall.

    Paul,

The forums all say that the 5.0 does not fit in the 33 with the stock headers. How did you do it?

We just cut off the bottom of the stock header and used two stainless elbows to connect it to the stock exhaust.
